Frequently Asked Questions

We are pleased to provide responses to some of the questions we are asked most frequently about the Arts Club.

How tall is the Arts Club?

Height is 115’ above Sunset Boulevard to the pool deck, 135’ above Sunset Boulevard to the roof of the partial 9th story, and 141’ above Sunset Boulevard to the top of the emergency helipad.

Will there be any public amenities?

Public Gallery access. The Project’s ground-level uses will also be community-serving for residents and visitors, with new uses such as gallery space and boutique retail.

Will the construction and operation of these new buildings be “green?”

The Arts Club will be designed to meet the US Green Building Council’s LEED Silver standard. Design, construction and operation will embrace cutting-edge technologies to reduce energy consumption, including natural ventilation, landscaped roof decks, storm water retention, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, water conservation and recycling.

Is traffic in the area being considered as part of the analysis?

Yes, a comprehensive transportation study is being prepared in conjunction with the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) which will provide information on any impacts and associated mitigations. It is important to note that The Arts Club site is located in a transit-rich area, providing many options for travel, including bike lanes, numerous bus lines and pedestrian-friendly streets.

How much parking will be provided?

Parking will be provided in an enclosed, automated subterranean garage. Final parking arrangements will be made in connection with the Environmental Impact Report and entitlement process.

What is the schedule for the Project?

The Project team has hosted community meetings about the project on December 8, 2015, February 8, 2016, and May 11, 2016. The City and its consultants are currently in the process of preparing the projects’ Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR). This section will be updated once the City has confirmed a schedule for completion of the report.
