History of The Arts Club

The Arts Club is a London members club founded in 1863 by, amongst others, Charles Dickens, Anthony Trollope, and Lord Leighton in Mayfair, London, England. The Arts Club was a hub of the arts during the 19th century and, although a social venue, it was known to be a place where cultural dialogue was fostered
and new ideas developed.

The principal areas of interest amongst current Arts Club members are fine arts, architecture, fashion, film, literature, music, performance, photography, science, theatre and TV/media. The Arts Club is now a place where creative and entrepreneurial minds come together to meet, exchange ideas, dine and be entertained.

Gensler is widely recognized as the world’s leading collaborative design firm, not just the largest. With 46 offices in 14 countries and more than 4,000 employees working in 27 practice areas ranging from tall buildings to product design, Gensler is proud to bring this new piece of world-class architecture to Sunset Strip with a community-friendly design custom tailored for West Hollywood.

The Arts Club project will be located on a 20,241 square foot site on the Sunset Strip, at the southeast corner of the intersection at Sunset Boulevard and Hilldale Avenue. The Project site does not include the existing gas station and spray tanning buildings on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard.
